WinHex 14.9

We've all seen animations on the internet, ranging from flashing banners to a 10 second scene. While it looks difficult to produce, it is actually simple to create. Though as easy as the task is, drawing each frame can be time-consuming. In this tutorial you will learn how to create a simple animation with Adobe Flash CS3 Professional.
First, open up Flash CS3. Every time Flash is opened, a dialogue box will appear. It will ask you to open a recent project, create a new project or create one from a template. Under the “Create a new project” list, there will be seven selections. Choose the second one down the list titled: “Flash File (ActionScript 2.0).” See picture A

Once the second selection is chosen, a white canvas will appear. On the bottom of the window, a small tab similar to Picture B will be present. Click the “Size” to edit the pixel height and width. By default it is 550 x 400.

Once the size box is selected, a box will pop up titled “Document Properties” as seen in Picture C. Edit the dimensions by changing the width to 640 and the height to 480 pixels. Change the frame rate to 12, if it already isn't set. The background color is optional, but for this tutorial, we'll use black. Click “OK” once completed.

Once the box closes, you'll notice that your canvas size has increased and scrolling is required to view the full black canvas.

Now to begin with a simple shape, select your brush tool (B) and adjust the brush size to match Picture D

Once the size has been selected, change the brush color to white (#FFFFFF).

Now, we are going to create a simple shape. Draw a curved line similar to Picture E. It doesn't have to be exactly the same; something similar to this is acceptable. Once you do, click F7. If you noticed the curved line will vanish, but the timeline above will have an extra frame. You can switch back and forth between frames by dragging the timeline left and right, by doing this the curve will re-appear as you move back one frame, and it will disappear as you advance a frame.

To ease an animation and maximize accuracy enable “Onion Skinning”. What this will do, is leave a grey outline of the previous frame, this will help you to continue off your previous frame. To enable “Onion Skinning” click the box as seen in Picture F

Once that happens, you'll notice a grey outline of your previous frame. We are going to make a moving animation to do this, recreate the curve about an inch off the top as in Picture G.

Picture G

Once that is done, press F7 once more. Now, you can see the past two frames. Do the same as above; create a curved line starting one-inch down from the top. Continue doing this, and alter the shape in any way you please, pressing F7 each time for the next frame. Once you believe you have created a sufficient amount of frames, you are able to preview the animation. Click File, then Publish Preview and select which format you would like to view it. You will see your animation moving each frame! To publish it, click File, Publish and choose which format to export it. That is all!

cheap software

For example Quicktime, which according to Secunia reports had more critical vulnerabilities the last few years than Flash.
Considering that Flash is a lot more widespread, and hence a more attractive target, that says a lot about Apple's own standards when it comes to security.

The biggest security threats tend to be JavaScript, Flash, Word and Acrobat, simply due to the obliquity. If you keep things up to date and use common sense the risks are still small, but if you have really sensitive or secret material on your computer you should preferably not have any of those installed.

I don't know anyone who had their systems compromised by Flash, and while a lot of Apple fanboys keep going on about how insecure Flash is, I have not yet seen or heard anyone that actually got their system compromised by it. If every critical vulnerability in every software would mean a big risk to get infected, our systems would permanently be exploited.

And Apple users should be running 10.1 already, considering how much they been whining about video playback using CPU, since that makes use of the API for HW acceleration that Apple finally made avialable.

Do you remember the critical Adobe Flash Player, Reader and Acrobat security issues that we highlighted to you a few days back? Well, there is good news and bad news. The good news is that the fix for Flash Player will be available by Thursday, June 10th, which is just a few hours away. The bad news is that the fix for Adobe Reader and Acrobat will only be available by June 29th, coming in the form of an accelerated release of the next quarterly security update that was originally slated for July 13th. Are you concerned over this security issue, especially of you’re a frequent user of Adobe Reader and Acrobat?
